I think I'm pretty spot on with the description and they'd have to be pretty plain like that because I am very picky and like pretty plain and basic/bland food don't like nuts I know they didn't have nuts or anything weird in them. If you have seen those Keebler cookies in stores in the pink box the "wedding" or "Danish" powdered cookies they have.I know they are not the same at all but every time i see them i freak out always thinking they have started making them again because it always reminds me of the cookies I am asking about. But what I think I remember(may vary from where it was a long time ago) but its was fairly a simple basic cookie.think it almost looked puffy and think it might have or might not have been powdered and had a chocolate filling inside almost like a cake icing is what I can best describe it as and I wanna say the cookie was maybe somewhat thin. Lemon Vienna Fingers were great as were the Vienna Fingers sans creme filling with one cookie with chocolate on one side. remeber seeing an ad in LIFE around 1968 for Hydrox,ORBIT and Sugar Wafers. "ORBIT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK FOR MORE" was their slogan. Sunshine had Peanut Butter Patties in the late 60's now Nabisco has a version under the NutterButter name TruBlu was sold to another company. Sunshine had "Oatmel-Peanut Sandwich, again copied by Nabisco as Nutter Butter. The full name was Cup Custard Nabisco copied it with Baronet. one was called U-NEKE and the other Lemon cents!!! I saw a copy of Lemon Coolers being sold in a Cracker Barrel in Fishkill, NY. Also they were selling packaged cakes in vending machines in Grand Central Terminal around 1969. Too bad AmTobCo didn't invest more in Sunshine Sunshine had a huge regional potato chip business which in 1971 were all branded as Sunshine. in 1966 and moved to AmTobCo's building at 245 Park Avenue. Sunshine was purchased by The American Tobacco Co. ![]() We had a neighbor who worked for Sunshine Biscuits in the "thousand window bakery",their headquarters in Long Island City,Queens. ![]()
